Aerosol techniques: recent advances

Aerosol is a sophisticated, unique packaging as the energy required to dispense its content is built-in. Its performances evolve according to the quality of its components and innovation. This session designed for aerosol specialists will take stock of recent advances in sensitive components, quality and safety.

Clinching of the valve

Aerosol sealing largely hinges on the clinching of the valve. The quality of the result is linked to three factors: the can, the valve and the packaging machine. This session, which features a panel of experts (valve, can and machine manufacturers), will take stock of the situation in order better to understand the various parameters to be taken into account to obtain an optimal result.

The goal of the experts is to draw up a document for packagers, listing the questions to ask, the stages to follow and the (simple) tests to perform to define the right measurements.

Varnishes: issues raised by BPAs

Metal aerosols use internal varnishes that may contain some controversial substances like BPAs. Presentations by experts will take stock of both technical and regulatory advances.

Propellants, environment: situation

Propellants, an essential component of aerosols, are evolving in accordance with the sustainable development strategy of industrial companies. This session will take stock of the latest advances to limit environmental impact.

Paris Aerosol & Dispensing Awards Ceremony chaired by Michel Fontaine, Président du CNE

Paris Aerosol & Dispensing Awards recognize technological innovations and new applications for aerosols and dispensing systems. They are awarded by an independent jury of journalists and packaging experts.

Aerosols made of plastic: boosting development

This session will address the consumer benefit approach, the development potential for brands and the regulatory situation in Europe and the United States. Sylvain Martin, a jurist specialised in packaging, will explain the action required to boost rapid developments in the European Aerosols Directive.

Sprays: definition, status of techniques, foams

The panel of experts on spray formation and foams brought together for this session will illustrate the latest advances in terms of design, quality, developments in spray and simulation techniques available for formulators.

Electronic management of technical specifications

ICTs (information and communication technologies) have impacted our professional lives and make companies more nimble. These technologies have become everyday working tools for packaging engineers: 2D, 3D, real time 3D, electronic management of technical specifications, GTD, project management, PLM, workflow, etc. This session will take stock of the situation in order to define what is expected of these tools and to envisage their implementation to accelerate innovation, time-to-market, product differentiation for global markets and compliance with local regulatory frameworks.

Design & Packaging digital workflow

This session will take stock of developments in « Packaging Digital Workflow »: organization, text management; proof reading and PdF validation, color metrics; soft & hard proofing and their impact in terms of rapid prototyping and digital printing.
