Iñigo Aguinaglade Larrañaga Difficulties encountered during product development:

When we began to study the aerosol market, we discovered it was anything but dynamic and used to working with the same old products; there was very little investment in R&D in the food segment. The market consisted almost exclusively of whipped cream.

The number of suppliers, machines and components was fairly limited, and as newcomers in the field, we felt each decision was rather risky.

Importance of receiving a prize at the Paris Aerosol & Dispensing Awards:
Our company is now present and recognised on the international scene. Prior to Aerosol & Dispensing Forum, few people knew us; this award has given us a large audience in the aerosol world.

It is a great joy for the teams, who knew nothing about aerosols three years ago, and who have managed to develop an entire range of products, singled out, moreover, with an Award !

This prize rewards all the people involved in this project and encourages them to innovate, even if, at times, their ideas seem a bit crazy.

Dennis Stevens The major challenge was to develop a package that could consistently offer a high-quality spray without using with a pre-pressurized container or propelling gases. With Afa’s breakthrough and patented technology this spray performance now is a reality, allowing it to bridge the gap between trigger sprayers and aerosol cans. Finding a launching partner who was willing to embrace the novel technology and introduce Flairosol in the market was the second challenge. With Pokon, the number-one plant care brand in the Netherlands, we found this partner and they launched the market’s first 2-in-1 leaf shine and plant fertilizer product in Flairosol.

Winning ADF’s Innovation Award is a great honor – we see it as another confirmation of Flairosol’s technical and commercial viability. This award also acknowledges Pokon’s contribution – by taking a risk and launching a product in a completely new packaging, they completely deserve to share this honor.
